Animal Experience Course
A 6-week course focused on hands-on learning and skill development.
Service Description
This 6-week course offers hands-on training in the care, handling, and health of a variety of exotic animals—from friendly dogs to large snakes and chameleons. Perfect for kids interested in animal care but unsure where to begin, this program provides foundational knowledge and practical skills. Upon completion, participants receive a glowing recommendation letter from our company, ideal for CVs, university, and college applications. Suitable for ages 11 and up. Week 1: Large Snake Handling This session focuses on safely handling large snakes, including proper use of a snake hook. We’ll learn to create a suitable enclosure reflecting their natural habitat and cover essential health checks, including recognising common signs of illness. Week 2: Bunny Enrichment and Care This week, we’ll meet our bunnies and dive into creating enriching activities for them. The group will learn safe feeding practices and how to perform basic health checks. Week 3: Geckos In this session, we’ll meet three types of geckos. We’ll cover safe handling, enclosure setup, and feeding, while discussing the dietary needs of these unique reptiles. Week 4: Guinea Pigs This week’s focus is on guinea pigs. We’ll set up enclosures, perform health checks, learn about their dietary needs, and create engaging enrichment using recycled materials. Week 5: Dogs Meet our friendly dog, who will join us for a walk. We’ll discuss his diet, prepare his food, and explore healthy snack options. Week 6: Chameleon Foraging Our final session covers foraging and creating a safe, natural habitat for our chameleon, Milo, by learning how to gather and prepare outdoor elements that mimic his ideal environment.
